Maya

When my eight-year-old daughter, Maya, began struggling emotionally after my divorce, I felt completely lost. She had become withdrawn, anxious, and unable to express her feelings. As her mother, I wanted to help her, but nothing I tried seemed to work. That's when I found, Hive of Hope Counselling and their art therapy program. Looking back, it was the best decision I ever made.

From the moment we walked into Hive of Hope, I felt a sense of warmth and understanding. Maya's therapist, Ella, was incredible—gentle, patient, and intuitive. Instead of pressuring Maya to talk, Ella encouraged her to express herself through art, letting her open up at her own pace.

Through activities like drawing, painting, and sculpting, Maya slowly began to process her emotions. One activity that stood out was when she moulded a clay heart, broke it in half, and repaired it with gold paint—a powerful metaphor for healing and resilience. Ella's approach was empowering; she didn't just help Maya create art but helped her rediscover her confidence and sense of hope.

The transformation in Maya has been remarkable. Her once-dark drawings are now colourful and full of life. She's more open, both at home and in school, and has started talking about her feelings instead of bottling them up.

I can't thank Hive of Hope Counselling enough. They didn't just help my daughter - they helped rebuild our family. If your child is struggling emotionally, I wholeheartedly recommend Hive of Hope. Their art therapy program is nothing short of life changing.
